(Hope)
Hello Friends! Here is a picture of Beautiful Affliction in my book shelf, next to some of the books on writing I have read and re-read the past years (and an Indonesian wood carved elephant đ ). It is still a strange feeling, seeing and holding a copy of my book! I remember when it was still a dream I hoped would one day come true, and here it is, page after page of materialized dreams.
This past month has been super busy, we have traveled to Kuala Lumpur to find a place to live come January (found an apartment that I like, yay!), we have traveled to Singapore to visit my hand doctor who concluded I needed surgery, which he performed that very afternoon (not yay). So the past few weeks my right hand has been in a bandage, not ideal for a writer, or for anyone for that matter. (My goodness, typing with only my left hand takes forever!) (If you wonder what happened to my hand, I can’t tell you, because I don’t remember! Apparently I had some sort of accident where a ligament was torn off, but I can’t remember when it happened, which my hand doctor finds very strange, but explains with my high tolerance for pain. Hm, I don’t like pain.)
Something that warmed my heart tremendously was to see Beautiful Affliction climb the charts on Amazon, the week before Thanksgiving. The book was even number one in Canada! Imagine that!
I love Canada!! â„ And all of you wonderful readers who so generously recommend my book, I can’t thank you enough! â„ Beautiful Affliction also climbed to number one on Amazon USA, kindle Memoirs! And number 24 out of all books in USA, I could barely believe it!
Wishing you a wonderful December with beautiful winter weather or cooling rainy season, depending on where you are.
With love,
Lene
PS. If you have read Beautiful Affliction and liked it, I would be tremendously happy if you would consider leaving a review or a rating on Amazon and/or Goodreads. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you.

What a beautiful sight, your own book on your shelf! I’m so happy for your success – so well-deserved. Just now as I was going to comment here on your blog I got a message from my friend on Facebook where she basically thanked me SOOO much for introducing your book to her, and how she’s spent nearly every free moment over the past two days reading it. And another acquaintance read it on my recommendation recently too, and she just loved it as well! So, in short, it seems I know a gem when I see one. đ GRATTIS!!!
Wow! Thank you so much for recommending my book! You’re amazing! I am so happy to hear your friends like it! <3
Your emotions of love, confusion, fear, struggle, pain, doubt are so beautifully captured in your beautifully written book of your life. You know that well known phrase “someone was looking after you.” It took a long time, but you finally were heard and finally healed. Wishing you the best always for you and your family. Thank you for sharing your very special life.
Thank you so much Carol for your kind words! It means a lot to me. Yes, I feel like someone was looking after me and in the end all the struggle turned into a miracle and I am so very grateful. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts about my book and story. With love, Lene <3
I believe you! Seeing out book ‘for real’ must be an incredible sensation. And seeing it becoming so popular is even better!
Christmas will be mild here in Italy, probably sunny. Have a wonderful Christmas season, Lene đ
